Pets4Pets- NOLA
A Blogging campaign to gather funds from those owned by furry creatures and those who love them in order to assist with the rescue and care of animals stranded by Hurricane Katrina.
ALL funds raised (minus any transaction fees, which will be reported)will be donated to The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. There are many good organizations out there working with animals in the area; this choice was made because they are local and currently able to put such a large amount of our donations to use for the specific disaster we are targeting.

Unfortunately, since this is a new PayPal account, it may take one or two days for this to be done. I will update you with progress notes here in the comments until the account is confirmed.
Additionally, donations that you have made will not be officially "accepted" until the account is confirmed. PayPal won't allow it. I apologize for the inconvenience, but think you're all amazing. The animals and I thank you.
Update on the total from jinzi at 4:49 pm est, 08/31/05: The PayPal account currently has $189.00 waiting for the account to be verified so that I can accept it for the Pets4Pets NOLA Fund.

You ALL rock for doing this. I'd suggest that Mississippi needs some money too, so perhaps sending along any extra will be a good idea.

Thanks, Meem! I am attempting to discover if once the goal is met, the system stops allowing donations.
The goal has (obviously) been reached, and it appears that part of the beta function software that I would change is that it will no longer accept donations. Also, I cannot change the amount. I am looking into this, and will post here with a new account for the remaining donations so that people being referred here by all the links know what to do if that is the case.
I've transferred the $500 to the Humane Society via PayPal.
Thank you so much! Just so you know, Magellan, the inspiration cat, passed shortly after the goal was reached. He was probably proud, too. :)
