Photoblogs.org Fund Drive

We are thrilled with the success of Photoblogs.org, and we'd like to thank all of our members and visitors for making this such a fun and rewarding project. When we started Photoblogs.org in 2002 with 15 sites in our directory, we never imagined it would eventually grow to over 8,000. Wow.

We have reached a point where we need to upgrade our server to accommodate the growing amount of traffic. This means that after nearly three years of running this site as a labor of love, we can't continue to absorb the growing costs.

How can you help?

Your donation will help offset the rising costs of running Photoblogs.org. We hope you know how much your donation means to us, whatever the amount. We love this site and we want it to be around for years to come. Thank you so much for contributing.

Thank you,

Brandon

You should run this campaign once a year to cover your costs.

Is there any non-controversial way we could authorize Brandon and Ashleigh to take a little of this well-deserved bounty and go out for a lavish night on the town? I'll chip in some more...

posted by Tom Athey on 01/27/05

I'd donate a bit more. They deserve a bit of a vacation from photoblogs.org.

Brandon, thanks for everything. I'm glad I've had a chance to give back.

This is very impressive. I stopped by earlier today and pledged my support. I've just come back to take a look and we've almost hit the target! I'm really glad that I've been a part of this.

Hope to see our community back "live" soon.

Fantastic response, I'm really pleased we could all help and show how much we all appreciate what you have been doing for us as a community. I tried to picture a photobloggers' world without photoblogs.org and it looked pretty darn ugly and cold!...

Wow!! I was here this afternoon and just came by to check out how it was going - wonderful response : ) I'm glad that we all showed how much we care about this wonderful not so little community! Makes me smile!

I hope what I gave helps - it wasn't much, but I very much want this resource to continue - it has helped me find my way around this new and rich world and has nurtured my own return to photography.

I topped off the 47 cents, and a bit more. :)

WOW! Seeing that the goal was met inside of 24 hours is just tremendous!! I don't feel so bad now about being unable to contribute due to a late commute and a downed 'net connection.

This proves that the community is most definitely willing to show their support to keep the vital photoblogs.org up and running - a big THANK YOU to all who contributed!!!!
