Ozarks Literacy Council Broken Window Campaign

The Ozarks Literacy Council (http://www.ozarksliteracycouncil.org) is a not-for-profit organization in Springfield, Missouri that provides free, confidential one-on-one tutoring, English as second language classes, and reading programs for at-risk children.

Two nights ago, vandals broke the large plate glass window on the front of our facility. The window is broken beyond repair and must be replaced. Unfortunately our insurance will not cover the cost. As any not-for-profit we survive month by month on donation and grant money, much of which is restricted for use in our various programs, and covering this type of emergency expenditure is beyond our normal means.

The estimated cost of replacement of the window is $1,394. We would love to raise half of the needed funds through this dropcash campaign. Please help us meet this unexpected challenge. Even the smallest donation is appreciated!

Thanks to everyone who has given so far. You guys are amazing. My wife, Mollie, is on the board of OLC. This particular fundraising need comes at a tough time. OLC receives United Way funds, and to get them, it must halt all fundraising activity during the United Way recruiting period, which begins on Wednesday, September 1 and lasts two months. So we will have to end the fundraising at that time. So if you are considering giving, know that you have to make the donation right away. Thanks again everyone!
